Where can I buy wholesale lobster in the area of Massachusetts? I was hired by my sister that her unofficial wedding planner, so little time I have been contemplating things like seating arrangements, weather emergency plans, and yes, food. There will be a wedding waterfront, so I thought the lobster would be appropriate for the dinner menu. Apart from the obvious clubs (Sam, BJS, Costco, etc.), where can I buy wholesale lobster? Where do restaurants get their seafood? I'm looking for distributors in the Massachusetts / Rhode Island / Connecticut area.
The volume of work, you can probably deal w / retailers. Without a business, you will not be able to get a true wholesaler to sell to you.You may be able to work out an arrangement of the docks, come down and speak to a captain when the boat onto the dock and see you can fix. There is a guy in the Berkshires who comes every day could be able to help you as well. This is called society seafood The Other Brother Daryl's. The guys name is Darryl Sawin.

Lowest price of lobster is usually in Hannaford supermarkets in Massachusetts and NH. Or you can go to Boston and perhaps buy just behind the docks. Report Abuse

Take a look and I'm sure you will find a wholesaler near you ... Good luck
Restaurants by direct mail order, I understand. This is what sushi restaurants and I asked them. I've also known people who have been consigned to the live crabs. Do you have a fish market where you live? If you do you can look in purchaning from there. Eastern markets are often places where you can get good prices and look online. Depending on how many you buy, you may be able to get the best price, but delivery by mail and they will most likely live. This is not a fun process. You must press a live animal into boiling water and it will be trying to get out. Have you considered another type of seafood that you would not have to kill you? Unless you do not mind seeing an animal die before your eyes. It is your choice. Get ready to cope. This will be a big problem to deal with all these animals and prevent them from spoiling. You do not want to give food poisoning on a large group of people.
I hope you have a professional do the cooking if you do this on a large scale. Complex on a large scale.
They are, in Maine
