A few years ago most laughed at the thought of a salad or another type of fresh vegetables at a soul food establishment, they simply do not go together. Now, more homeowners are adding salad bars and even vegetarian soul food supply to their customers.

The response has been extraordinary. In fact, an owner plans to open a separate Vegetarian Soul Food Restaurant of next year because of growing demand.
Soul food cooking techniques are also adaptable to the thinnest, lightest consumer demand. Techniques are not normally associated with Southern cuisine is joining this movement. For example, frying - this quick cooking method that preserves the nutrients and vitamins is used in more recipes soul. You'll also notice more steam, cooking and roasting and less fried foods.
