Vegetarian menu ideas for wedding? I'm getting married this summer and plan to have a vegetarian menu, as both my girlfriend and I were vegetarians for a while. Having spoken to many traders who think vegetarian catering facilities Vegi trays and salad, I decided to make the marriage with a caterer. Any ideas on what to serve my 75 or so customers?
We made our marriage a free vegan catering and you can too. We have also contributed to some self catering weddings began and they are great fun.
It's summer, so go with summer food where possible and if you do not support endless, it is better ot do in a free service and I prefer a tent Outdoor - it makes cleaning easier! It is not as expensive as you might think .- usually less than a room rental.
A circular plan put in place for the semi-cold food and cold that the guests can use around there and a hot table where they can post the two sides.
cold table:
Complete with lots of cheap flowers like daisies to party. Mix in fruit, like cantaloupe, watermelon, melon, strawberries. Have humus, bruschetta and crackers. Serve whole grain rolls in various models with cashew butter millet - Ah heaven! You have a station carob dip with fruit and marshmallows kosher (vegan), so a lot of cheese cubes vegan okay. jello molds Vegan, relish trays and punch fountains.
Hot table: marriage afternoon
You can have wild rice with diced chicken patties Boca sauce, corn, cranberry for a starter and bean stroganoff with mushrooms and peppers and tomatoes stuffed with one another. We also have burgers and vegan hot dogs with fixings if there are children there.
In the eveing you might prefer to have the hot table:
lazzonia Tofu (sp), garlic bread, bread gluten chick surrounded by potatoes onions and carrots (which looks like a pot roast, but vegan), green beans with almonds, and perhaps Glazed Carrots and beat Harvard.
Anyway, there are many options and you can do better and cheaper than any chef who is not a vegan chef. I have many ideas but I'd better close this for now.
There are of course the cake which, ironically, may be easier to get vegan.
Best wishes - your wedding can be everything you dreamed.
PS I see you're a vegetarian, so you can not be vegan. If so it is even easier with more options even if I have given you ideas for a vegan diet, you can customize to include milk and eggs with cheese if desired options ..
How about pasta dishes? Many breads, pasta, rice dishes, stir fries, vegetable dishes and casseroles. You can make false quiches and crackers and things for out-oerves (sp?) There are a ton of good options that are not expensive as your caterer should have thought of.
Salad and veggie trays ... * Headdesk
Sauted vegetarian would be good, and you can include the option to add the fried tofu (yum) .. pleaseee do not eat pasta if, like penne with tomato sauce - it can be easy and relatively cheap, but the only vegetarian option is never used (at least for me) at weddings, banquets, formals, etc.
Good luck and congratulations!
Wow It looks like a lot of work. You must do things that are easy bulk. What about the soup of cucumber vichyssoise or as an aperitif? In this way, it would not even need to be kept warm.
You could have grilled vegetable couscous stuffed squash halves with the main course.
Good luck and congratulations!
Good luck with that ... I am a professional cook and I can not imagine doing that and to marry at the same time.
