Vegetarian cooking for meat eaters? I love to cook and part of the cooking, as everyone knows is the tasting and seasoning food. The dilemma is that vegan IM and my husband, my friend and his family are meat eaters. advice on how I can season and / or prepare food without always having someone else there to enjoy? Thank you in advance =)
I ran into what my mother was visiting (she eats meat, we did not) I just cook the meat separately, then add to the already seasoned (and tasted) sauce, stew, etc. and cook a little longer after removing other parts. My mother loves when I use: mushrooms as a meat substitute in dishes such as tacos, stroganoff, etc. she said she would likely not yet able to say there is no meat, if she did not know, because it has a similar taste and texture. I also have a rice cooker small, dedicated just for her, and can often repair the meat meal based on it without interfering with our vegetarian meals. Works for us.
Do not listen to these people, they are silent. I am the only vegetarian in my family and I am in the kitchen.
If you are going to cook what you need to do is to cook what you want to eat and have meat on the side they can add in. As if you make a jump, to blow it up as you would eat, but to make the meat in separate pan, and put it next to the jump and people who want the meat is put in. It's really not a big deal, and who knows? Maybe they will realize that food without meat is just as good!
If you are a vegetarian for ethical reasons, it is not fair that you should cook the meat. You might as well eat it.
A vegetarian is not just someone who does not eat meat.
Someone who does not engage in the barbaric animals are reared / processed killed by the meat industry.
Therefore, if you buy / handle / cook the meat you call a vegetarian just because you do not eat it.
I'm not judging you, I am stating a fact.
I know it must be difficult for you and you have my full support, but to decide where your loyalties lie.
Good luck.
You can make a vegetable risotto and make some shrimp / meat on the side to add to the pot after your own.
Or you can use chicken pieces somehting Quorn ... Seriously, I made a Thai curry with them and asked my carnivores in laws when I stopped being a vegetarian lol. Just make sure its something with a sauce too bland other wise:)
you can make a salad with dressing, tomatoes, carrots can be when you take your bowl and your husband and everything that you could perhaps add a little diced ham if you have your own salad based non-meat, but your husband, friends ect. have meat in salad the're
I hope I helped! :)
I am vegetarian and I do cook meat for others, but my personal choice. There is no rule that vegetarians can not cook meat for others as they do not taste or eat any of it, but you can not call yourself a vegan if you cook meat. If they do not like the taste of what you do, let them cook for them selfs.
i cannot believe that a vegetarian could I mean your kitchen real dead animals wouldnt be vegetarian
A good cook always tastes their food.
that is so bad it should be a meat eater.
they want to let the meat cook and clean up after themselves ...
my kitchen my rules ... which includes guest ... is not no restaurant .... redneck cooking vegetables .... and Veery good!
