Does anyone have a Yorkshire pudding recipe vegan? I think it's something indigenous British, I think the closest equivallent United States would "cookies".
You can not use a "normal" recipe, but use soy milk instead of cow's milk and egg substitute with one of the following suggestions from the Vegan Society website:
aec 1 gram c. soup (chick pea) or soya flour and 1 tablespoon water soup
aec 1 c. tablespoon of arrowroot, 1 tablespoon tablespoon soy flour and 2 tablespoons water soup
aec 2 c. of flour, ½ c. tbsp shortening, ½ tsp teaspoon baking powder and 2 tablespoons water Tea
50g tofu blended with the liquid part of the recipe aec
aec ½ large banana, mashed
aec 50ml white sauce
Maybe not the banana, unless you soft Yorkshire puds!
My mother made every Christmas Yorkshire pudding, and I've been a vegetarian for ever, if she made one for me without the "juice" that was really good. It has failed and it made the pudding according to recipe ordinary. I do not know if this has asked animal ingredients, because I would not object to milk, eggs or butter, but I think you could play with vegan substitutes for all these things and come out with something good. I liked that she did for me (even though she never thought it was as good as the meaty one). Now I can not eat wheat, so the whole dish is at the window.
