Vegan Diet Diabetes

Vegan Diet DiabetesIs a Raw Vegan diet for diabetes and high blood pressure?

Is a raw vegan diet healthy for a long period of time, especially with diabetes and hypertension? I try to switch to a raw vegan diet, but my dietitian insists he is not healthy. Has anyone here tried the long term, or know anyone who has? I am willing to lose much weight, and I was making lots of salads, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, green peppers, celery, onions, carrots ... and then I pour a lot of vinegar and lemon juice. It is tasty, nutritious and very low in calories. It seems to work for me, but my dietician is not happy. And I did not even tell you what my primary care doctor thinks my decision to stop all my medications for diabetes and blood pressure and rely on a raw vegan diet instead of drugs ... except I'll have to find another primary care physician.

I've heard of people curing diabetes and hypertension with a raw food diet. I do not myself believe (although I played with recipes, and has incorporated some things like smoothies greens in my life), but I met many long-term Foodista first who have overcome disease such as diabetes, allergies, eczema, and even fighting against cancer - and they are all in very good health now and outside of all drugs. A book I strongly suggest you is "eat to live" by Joel Fuhrman - it is the main food first and solves the problems of diabetes and hypertension. It also contains articles on this and many other topics on its website and is available for consultations if you want him to create a plan for you to get your medications. (But I would not just go cold turkey on your drugs - your body will need time to adjust gradually wean you from them). Check out these links:

http://creativehealthinstitute.com/ - The Creative Health Institute has a relatively inexpensive two-week program that teaches you living all aspects of how to live and eat raw. I know people who have made this program and has great experience with it.

Good luck!

My husband is diabetic and his sugar levels sky rocked because of surgery (stress). So we eat meat very few of those days. Some occasional chicken breast (small portions) of ground turkey, and fish. But in reality almost no beef or pork. Animal fats seem to be guilty of serious disease.

He dropped his A1C from October to July and my cholesterol (50 PT.) We take lots of vitamins to compensate for what we do not eat.

We have done this about 2 years. It is worthwhile.

Jump off the medication too early would not be smart. Side effects can be very serious. Her eye surgery because he was having side effects of the disease.

Find an endocrinologist control your diabetes. I do not know your age. But the unpleasant symptoms that come with the sugar in the blood are not fun ... and can ruin the rest of your life.

Good luck in your decision.

the main thing is that if your body does not have fat in the ... Then he begins to run other things fat ... cells must have two things to survive ... .. oxygen and sugar and insulin is the key that allows the sugar and oxygen in the cells .. so do not take in some foods can be harmful ... but, like anything else ... "Everything in moderation" ... and the idea of replacing the insulin with food vegan is leading a dangerous road ... of course the blood pressure regularly can be contolled with a good diet, but there.
