Hancock Youtube The video sharing service YouTube is known for many things. One of the scourges which they deal, of course, is that movies and TV shows illegally uploaded on their website. But in a twist, a recent film showed the other side of you tube and in fact made up of videos of him in the film. So what movie you've used tube? Hancock, of course.
Fans will remember that Hancock tells the story of a homeless man (played by Will Smith) no name who happens to have super powers. The man went around trying to save people and do the right thing, but in general, do more harm than it should. He is constantly destroying things in downtown Los Angeles when he tries to help people and many people think it is a menace that should not be allowed into the city limits.
The way he gets a name is that a boy will stop our hero and asks for an autograph. The man looks at the boy and is confused about what he says, "you know, signing your John Hancock." The man signs the name of John Hancock and the rest is history as Hancock, but not in the right direction.
That all changes when Hancock saves a PR executive played by Jason Bateman. The man is grateful to Hancock for saving his life and also sees an opportunity. It brings home with him and Hancock tries to explain why there is a problem in how it conducts its superheroes.
And that's where You Tube and Cross-Hancock. Hancock is shown several vidoes. In one, he is in rags, who had been burned in a fire that had gone on and off. It grows in front of a group of children and takes the ice cream, much to the dismay of the children who were lined up. Then we see Hancock save a whale stranded in launching the giant whale in the water. One small problem: Hancock managed to launch the whales directly on a sailboat in the middle of the ocean.
To the best of my knowledge, YouTube does not pay a sponsorship fee for producing their products mentioned during the movie, but I would not be surprised if they try to play a more active role in the upcoming movie Hancock, scheduled to come 2012. I can see it here: Premiers Youtube Hancock 2 trailer. Hey, it could happen.
