Steaming lobster tails I need help? We have bought two lobster tails and any way we can thaw in the microwave, and my mother and me the big blow is the **** outta something with a hammer and shot all the meat from the shell and the tail , what you should do? Projected onto them to steam. [We have never cooked lobster at home before.] D: Please HELP!
Normally, we want them steamed with the shell on and then once the meat is cooked remove it from the shell. It comes much easier after cooking. As you have already in the tank I poach the lobster in butter. Melt the butter in a saucepan (enough to cover the lobster) then give the lobster a bath of butter over low heat for about 15 med min depending on size. It is difficult to overcook using this method. You can use the left over butter lobster mashed potatoes or pasta
you do not hit the poo out but remove carefully with a sharp knife
steam for 10 minutes max
I like steamed live lobster, but lobster tails are better grilled. No need for hammers, lobster tails will get right after you break the shell by cutting the body with scissors
paste and place the juice for 16 seconds
Please try not to use the microwave for thawing fish ..
and with the lobster, it is not really necessary to defrost .. put a pan of water on the stove with a little salt in it too once it comes back in. drop your tails. Leaver if frozen in about 10-12 minutes .. so cool about 8 minutes .. then you take a sharp knife or scissors and cut the bottom of the tail .. thoroughly cooked, it will be pure white and firm ..
but if you prefer to remove it as you did then once you have removed all the meat put in a small clay pot with butter and a little garlic, cover with paper placed in an oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes .. it tastes like it ..
I always used scissors to cut the center of the belly to the tail, then broke open that way. The meat stays firmly in the tank until cooked. 10-15 minutes depending on size and pot size. Brush with melted butter when they first come out, before serving.
Never whack a lobster. It is best to boil lobsters; second is the best steam. Microwave turn to rubber. First important thing to eat lobster of good quality, not frozen in a bag at Sam's Club. The second thing is to never OVERCOOK them. Remove from boiling water or steam when the shell turns red. The lobster tails will continue to cook inside their own shells for about five minutes.
