Smoked sausage recipe ideas for Turkey? I purchased Hillshire Farms Smoked Turkey Sausage and my husband does not think it would go well with spaghetti - so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what to do with the sausage .... I am looking for simple ideas that do not require many ingredients, but the crock pots and ideas are wonderful!
OMG! Your husband is sooooooooooo wrong! It is so good with spaghetti! Try! I was actually thinking about cooking for dinner tonight! Next time, though, try Butterball place! I know a recipe for penne pasta, stewed tomatoes ........ I can not remember ... try the spaghetti! Or you could try Zatarain jambalaya ... it is also delicious and very easy to do!
Chop a head of cabbage. cut some potatoes. placed in a large saucepan with enough water to cover food. Once potatoes and cabbage are tender, add turkey sausage and cook for twenty minutes over low heat.
I would like to add some hot pepper flakes and a little onion and some caraway seeds or fennel, but you do not.
You can cut into 3 "pieces and place in a pan / casserole sauerkraut. It's delicious!
In our family, we would save up (freeze) on the left over pieces of roast beef, kielbossa, smoked sausage we have for sale, etc., then crush them all with an onion or two. The result of hash is fried and then mixed with cooked rotini noodles fried or boiled potatoes. Besides sauerkraut or salad and finish your meal. Delicious! (Sometimes I'll buy kielbossa and smoked sausage just to grind with the onions and place in freezer bags - everything you need to do is thaw, fry and boil some noodles. Done! It Lunch is a super-fast!)
Here are two that I've had for years:
Sausage and rice with saffron
Brown pieces of 1 inch or bite size turkey sausage in a little oil in a deep saucepan with a tight lid.
Add two cups water or chicken broth. Add 1 / 8 c. teaspoon saffron or a pinch of saffron. Stir. Bring to a boil, and add a cup of white rice.
Cover. Reduce heat to low. Set the timer for 20 minutes. Do not touch until timer rings.
Open the lid, fluff the rice and sausage. Serves 4.
Optional: add 1 / 2 cup cooked peas or a little pepper, diced Ortega.
Smoked sausage and cannelloni beans
Serves 4
! package Hillshire Farms Smoked Turkey Sausage, cut into chunks
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 cans cannelloni beans (white) beans, drained.
Brown sausage in a skillet. Add garlic. Pour the drained beans and stir. Cover tightly, reduce heat. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. If mixture is too dry, add water, 1 / 4 cup at a time. Beans, cook a little.
That's fine with sauerkraut cooked with apples, brown sugar, beef consume, and cumin seeds!

4 cloves garlic, minced
1 3 / 4 cups V8 juice (or tomato juice)
2 16 oz cans red kidney beans, drained
3 / 4 c. tsp dried oregano
3 / 4 c. tea. dried thyme
1.2 to 3.4 ml. red pepper flakes (less if you do not like spicy)
1 / 2 c. pepper
2 pounds fully cooked smoked kielbasa cut into 1 / 4 inch slices.
4 cups cooked rice
Mix all ingredients except rice in slow cooker. Cover. Cook on low 4-6 hours. Serve over rice. Yummy!
