How to have a Passover Seder Great Well, if this is your first Passover Seder, you might be a bit stressed. No need, however, because this article has everything you need to impress your friends and family and believe that your house is where all the Cool Kids have Passover.
1. When lighting candles at the beginning of the Seder, or earlier at any time before sunset, recite two blessings on them.
2. Then, bless you all wines to be consumed during the dinner, and after pouring a cup for everyone, remember the prophet Elijah. After everyone has had a cup, then pour the other.
3. When the Passover Seder begins, make sure everyone has a Passover Haggadah, and if you can not afford to give everyone a book, photocopies work just fine too. Wash your hands to prepare for eating the Karpas, the representative of the coming spring vegetable that is dipped in salt water to represent tears wept by our ancestors. This is the first point we will deal with the seder plate.
4. Break one of the three matzah on the table in two and hide it, because it is the afikomen and children will find it at the end of dinner.
5. Start reading the story of Exodus and Passover. Did the youngest child asking four questions and the end of the story, bless the second cup of wine and drinking.
6. Then bless the matzah with prayer motzi-ha, then a special prayer matzo. Eat a little after the blessings are said.
7. Bless the maror, usually raw horseradish, and symbolizes the bitterness of slavery. Dip into maror charoset and eat. Add matzo meal, charoset and maror sandwich and eat it too.
8. Take a delicious meal, and as long as it is kosher and excludes unleavened food, or chametz, that is fine by the Torah. Then let the kids find the afikomen and give them whatever you see fit.
9. For the third cup of wine, say the Birkat ha-Mazon and bless and drink wine. Then pour the last cup of wine for all and allow a child to open the door for Elijah. Recite the last prayer over the wine and talk about the psalms. Enjoy the wine and inclination.
10. Finish with a statement celebrating Passover next to Jerusalem with the coming of the Messiah, announced by Elijah.
