Renal Diet Restrictions

My cat was in renal failure for about 3 years. It is well maintained on dietary restrictions and did not even need a subcutaneous fluids. Her work has indicated his last blood BUN and creatinine had slipped a bit. One of the doctors I worked for suggested I check Azodyl a pro-biotic which is supposed to eliminate certain toxins kidney. There is a wide variety of opinion on the product and I was wondering if anyone on Y / A has had experience using it?

Vomiting while on drugs is a serious problem, and caused many to stop giving their cats.

I am involved in another forum pets, and most of those who have tried have been closed due to vomiting by their cat.
