Oban Restaurants

The town of Oban is the unofficial capital of the West Highlands know that the gateway to the islands. Oban itself literally means little bay, from the Gaelic an OB. the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William

The city grew around the distillery and since its founding in 1794, he played an important role in local life. Oban received a single malt since the 1880s. The distillery is bang in the center of the city and is located just off George Street.

benchmark is the most famous Obans McCaig tower built in the late 19th century, it is a copy of the Colosseum in Rome. Work on the tower stopped after Mr. McCaig died in 1902. The empty shell of the tower which dominates the skyline Oban, and is now a public park.
