Low Fat Vegan DietVitamin D and raw vegan diet: Part II

In Part II of vitamin D and the Raw Vegan Diet, "I look at vitamin D3, problems with supplementation, and winter. Be sure to check Part I of the information about vitamin D is it, how much we need, and toxic ingredients in sunscreens.

D3?

Vitamin D (as well as supplements of vitamin D) actually comes in two forms: vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Although it was believed to be equivalent, it is now known as vitamin D3 (produced from exposure to UVB) is not absorbed through the skin immediately. It is actually up to 48 hours before the majority of vitamin D you have been exposed to entry into the bloodstream.

What is the problem?

After a great day spent away sweat, which is the first thing we want to do? Take a shower.

And what do we usually do in the shower? Lather soap and lots of soap.

Uh oh. The problem here is that you are not only taking with your sweat as soap. If it was less than 48 hours, you are stripping your skin of all the valuable vitamin D!

The solution? Well, there are a couple:

# 1: wait two days for the shower

I can not wear makeup or costume accessory kits, but I'm still a woman.

I'm not waiting two days after the time sweat under the sun to wash!

# 2: Use only water

I take a shower almost every day if this is my personal preference.

I know, I know. Only the water? "

If you eat healthy, low fat raw food without adding salt, spices or condiments, you really do not need to use soap. In fact, I never use any form of soap, natural or not, to clean my skin.

But I'll keep for another post. :)

Problems with supplementation

Research into problems there with supplements of any kind, including vitamin D, is rather long.

A special study conducted in 2008 showed that supplementation with vitamin D can actually block the Vitamin D Nuclear Receptor (VDR), which is necessary for the enforcement "or transcription of hundreds of genes, including genes associated with diseases ranging from cancers multiple sclerosis. "

Here is a quote from a professor at Murdoch University School of Biological Medicine and Biotechnology Australia, Trevor Marshall, Ph.D., quoted in a ScienceDaily article on the study:

Molecular biology is now obliges us to rethink the idea that a low measured value of vitamin D means we simply must add more of our food. Supplemental vitamin D has been used for decades, and yet the epidemics of chronic diseases like heart disease and obesity, do worse.

Our disease model has shown us why low levels of vitamin D are observed in association with a serious and chronic illness, "said Marshall. "Vitamin D is a hormone secosteroid, and the body regulates the production of everything needed. In fact, the use of supplements can be harmful because it weakens the immune system so the body can not fight against disease and infection effectively.

Debbie took RawforLife makes a good point about the very supplementation and animals in the United Kingdom:

The animal world is full of clues about how to live healthily. So like.
