Make a fruit basket kosher? I try to make a fruit basket as a gift to bring my friend invited me to Thanksgiving. They keep kosher, so I wanted to check - I plan to use fresh fruit at harvest, which should be good (I think apples, pears, oranges), but what about the basket it?
I know how to use utensils nonkosher can normally not kosher food kosher basket is going to be a problem?
Answer: check the fruit very carefully for any hint of bugs (usually not a problem but with grapes, raisins and other fruit clusters, it is sometimes). Any sign of bugs is trefel fruit - non-kosher.
Fruits and vegetables are always allowed.
Great idea, btw!
The basket should not be a problem as it did not contain anything not permitted in a kosher home: pork, beef not kosher, not kosher chicken, etc. Maybe in line the cage with a towel or Small towel?
Fruit, fish, vegetables are neutral foods. You really can not go wrong with either the basket. utensils are kosher and Jewish family knows how to prevent them from becoming unkosher. Overall do not worry, your doing something very nice and your good friend for verification, Happy Thanksgiving and I hope they appriciate the friends they have!
