Italian Prosciutto

Posted on March 20, 2010.
Italian ProsciuttoWhat can I use to replace the prosciutto in Italian recipes, so that the meal is vegetarian?

Although I am not a vegetarian many of my friends are. If I want to invite and make an Italian dish that calls for prosciutto mixed in pasta how do I replace it?

If a solution vegan is great, I am only for vegetarians.

You can use a similar vegetarian bacon, or as dulse seaweed or washed. If you jump dulse leaves in a frying pan dry, they will be a bit crunchy and salty flavors, like bacon or prosciutto. I throw in the pasta a lot. Wash can also be grilled, and has a chewier texture that is more "meat like" There are lots of sea vegetables that have little texture and flavor. They are available in most stores health food or Asian markets. Bravo to you to support your vegetarian friends! Many just dismiss the notion. Very good!

I would try to find the closest thing to something similar to Bacon. I'm not sure what the firm has in the morning went grocery. If they even have a substitute. I'm not even sure if they do something like that.

Worse is to just skip over this part of the plate.

Or maybe an idea would be tofu, and season with liquid smoke? small bands of him.

There is no substitute for prosciutto .... Do not screw a good plate of pasta with some godawful "soybean" creation ....

Some vegetables are very versatile thin slices of eggplant, zucchini or. Portabella mushrooms are too big. You can always add more herbs for flavoring. I like Mrs. Dash salt free product line.

Morning Star or Bocca Both bacon or sausage that is made from vegetables, but taste like smoked meat. It will certainly help everyone better vegetarian meal.

The only thing I can think is Lightlife sausage. It comes in a roll and it is incredibly like Italian sausage.

Ham, Oh, wait, this is not a vegetarian is it ........... sorry, I do not know.

Gawd! Do not spoil a perfect size beautiful Italian recipe by substituting bullshit soy-based fake meat for prosciutto elegant!

Do something else! parmagiana Eggplant is a good dish. . . Oh wait that cheese. . . I do not know if they are strictly vegetarian and do not eat cheese, they'll be a real pain in the ass to cook and the cost of your "normal" guests.

I always use hemp.
