MarketplaceFoods Diabetics Should Not EatPosted on January 25, 2010. Whats an ideal amount of glucose in a diabetic should eat each day? I know that diabetics should not eat food / drinks with a lot of glucose. But some people do not follow the rules. Whats an ideal amount (or maximum amount) of the supply of glucose must have diabetes every day in grams please. I have type 2 and here is my take. You do not need maps, lists, charts or a guru of carbohydrates to your table. Several packages and menus to lie about the number of grams of sugar. Many cards, even the government is wrong with the carbohydrate content, because 2 potatoes grown a thousand miles away could be a big difference in starch analysis. Which potato to analyze the government? Use your common sense and do not make it so complicated because it is not. Look at all the meals you offer to eat. That carbohydrates are the smallest portion. What other parts are mostly fresh or frozen vegetables and lean meat or fish. Unrefined carbohydrates that are mainly / fibrous like sweet potato instead of mashed potatoes. And exercise every day. Use your meter all the time and let it guide you. If sugar is often high, adjust your meals and see if the numbers begin to go down.If you can not do that using your head, then read on glycemic index. It will separate you for the good of bad carbs. The rest is easy as pie. You are referring to carbohydrates, no sugar.
Much depends on the level of your diabetes.
Many diabetics try to limit to 15g of carbohydrates per meal, times 6 meals a day. But this is not a strict rule and rapidly since the lifestyle of each is different and therefore how their bodies react to food.
For me, I can eat as much as 125 grams of carbohydrates in the morning, if I exercise for a couple or three hours later. Lunch, about 25g carbohydrates, 15g or less and dinner since I'm sitting on my ass after dinner.
In doing this, I kept my A1C low. 5.8 A week and a half.
I do not eat or drink after 18 hours, with the exception of water or perhaps a cup of tea.
I try to eat in that time to eat as much as possible and should not do when my blood sugar is high.
A dietitian should advise you better on a good diet to control blood sugar.
constant finger pricks are the key to determining how much you can eat at one time and how often.
My dietician wanted me to eat 250g of carbohydrates per day. I have never followed this recommendation. I'm out of my own and my blood sugar tester be my boss food. This is the best way.
If certain foods make you peak too high, then eat less or try to eat at a different time of day. If you still pick, then do not eat them.
I started with less than 12g of carbohydrates per meal when I was diagnosed.
It took some time for me to discover how much I could eat, and when. I followed all sugarstats.com every graph I can see my average.
If you're not an exerciser very hard as a laborer or a plumber or a commercial business that requires great physical stamina during the day, I did not think anyone needs 250g of carbs a day.
Any more than that of blood sugars rise and the fact of cholesterol.
I had my cholesterol down to almost perfect in just a few months. Total was only 171. By avoiding carbohydrates (and salt) I got my blood pressure at 80/48.
Carbohydrates are a necessary evil. Eat as much as you need and nothing more.
Note: All diabetics need to cheat from time to time.
I asked my endo if I could have a cinnamon roll because I had not had one in 6 months. She said I could have only one direction - LOL.
Everything in moderation ... Firstly, I doubt you could find anything that gave the amount of glucose. The reason is that glucose is rarely an ingredient in food. You should be aware of things that end in-ose. It t.
