Is Reverb and Delay Guitar essentially the same thing? I get a vintage Danelectro my birthday, but I want a guitar effect where I could get this elegant echo (as used in many French alternative music (Francoiz Breut) or Nancy Sinatra "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down). I was looking around on the internet and I see pedals Reverb and Delay pedals. Do they have the same effect or are they two different variants of the same?
No.
Reverb is a sound similar to play in a large room. Not really an echo in itself, just a sound "bigger".
The delay is more what you think when you think the word echo. This is a real recovery delay of the sample.
