Cupcakes By Post

Yesterday I had a strange desire for cupcakes. I live in Glendale, California and all places in Pasadena cupcake (the nearby town and more) are closed because it is Sunday and Labor Day. So, with my 2 year old son and my husband in tow, we drove 26 miles to Santa Monica, a place called vanilla bakery. I ordered 6 different flavors of their cupcakes and then went to Beverly Hills to enjoy the cupcakes Sprinkles. I heard a lot of buzz around their cupcakes with Oprah herself. Then when we got home, I put the side of cupcakes tasted each side and what I ordered. To my surprise, Sprinkles cupcakes are a huge disappointment! The cake itself was dry, red velvet cake tasted so much like baking soda and ice is certainly not made with real butter. No, I am not an employee of a bakery others .... I'm just telling the truth. Sorry all fans Sprinkles but really, what is up with that cupcake? We had to line up for half an hour in the heat of the sun just to 2:00 p.m. disappoint. I wonder why all these people fall in line for it? Is it really just because Oprah said it was good? The cupcakes Vanilla waaaaayyyyyy Bakery is better than Sprinkles. Again, I am not an employee nor do they pay me to post this question, I am really puzzled that with Sprinkles cupcakes that people go gaga for it.

Just had a cupcake part of Brown Sugar Cinnamon, the other faves at the meeting were the red velvet, orange Creamsicle (the kids loved it, but the icing is so delicious rich, it sorta put adults in a coma , lol) and vanilla / chocolate.

Sprinkles suffers from being too busy - the quality has suffered.

I'll have to check with vanilla bakery.

I had the red velvet cake too and I thought it was dry. I do not much like icing on the cupcakes and they drown cupcakes in icing conditions. I think many people like them because celebrities are raving about Sprinkles and most people are sheep and do whatever people tell them to do.

I do not water them either.
I'm on a dive to 5 minutes from Beverly Hills and the first and only time I ever went to the cake was bad.
It was too sweet, the cake has been .... dry and there was more ice and cake!

I almost ordered these because of the hype. I decided that nothing is baked as much as they cost to ship here. Perhaps their love of extreme amount of icing.
