I want to make crab soup. Recipe help please? All I have to base cream of mushroom. Is it going to be ok? I have the crabmeat, onions and seasonings, but tasteful with just the cream of mushroom?
I would not cream of mushroom soup with crab, but it's just me.
A hooker and a bathtub full of hot crab soup now!
I cook with my children and they love it!
Classic Crab Soup
Ingredients
* 3 tablespoons margarine
* 1 green onion, chopped
* 1 stalk celery, chopped
* 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 2 cups fish stock
* 2 cups milk
* 2 cups whipping cream
* 1 1 / 2 pounds of crab meat, flaked
* 1 / 4 cup sherry
* 1 1 / 2 c. teaspoon salt
* 1 / 4 c. teaspoon ground black pepper
* 2 cups boiled eggs (optional)
* 1 / 2 teaspoon paprika
* 6 slices of lemon (optional)
Instructions
1. place eggs in a 2-quart saucepan and cover with water. Bring water to boil. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 10-12 minutes. Remove eggs from hot water and cold.
2. Press the yolks of hard boiled eggs through a sieve and set aside.
3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add green onions and celery and cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender, about 4 minutes.
4. Add flour and cook, stirring for 2 minutes. Stir in broth, milk and cream. Bring to a boil.
5. Add the cooked egg yolks, crabmeat, sherry, salt and pepper and heat through. Pour into bowls and garnish each serving with a pinch of paprika and a slice of lemon.
1 lb. crabmeat
1QT. water
3 parts chicken
1 qt + 1 pt. tomatoes cut up
1c. potatoes diced
3 / 4 c. chopped celery
3 / 4 c. diced onion
pinch of black pepper, cumin, coriander, white pepper, allspice, salt
1 lemon rind
1 tsp corn
1 tsp peas
Remove any shell or cartilage from crab meat. Place water and chicken in A6 qt. Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to med. low, simmer for 1 hour. Add potato, tomato, celery, onion and seasonings. Cover and simmer until the vegetables are almost cooked, about 25 min.Add crab, corn and peas. Simmer covered for 15 minutes more.
Crab and Sweet Corn Soup
3 1 / 2 tsp fish stocks
12 oz cream corn
4 oz crab meat
S & P
1 tsp tea. soy sauce
2 v. soup. cornstarch
1 tsp soup. water
4 green onions, sliced
2 egg whites beaten
Bring the broth to a boil in LG. saucepan. Add corn, crab, seasonings and soy. Simmer 4-5 minutes. Mix starch and water, add to soup. Return to boil again. Cook until the mixture thickens. Whisk egg whites until stiff. Stir into soup. scatter onions over servings.
And I just got rid of those nasty things in me itch like crazy.
