Cooking Corned Silverside6 Sense simple meal for Slow Cookers

Slow cookers are truly one of those kitchen appliances that we wonder what we ever did without once we start using them. There is something of a pot meals that really fits with Australian culture and is derived from many cultures who have excelled in baking dish.

Silverside / Corned Beef with Honey Mustard Sauce Recipe

Sole, also known as corned beef, Australia is the favorite. Many people remember this dish served by their mothers and grandmothers on Sunday instead of a roast, but no less delicious.

Depending on your size of slow cooker bowl, choose your piece of meat.
Put it in your kitchen with:
1 cup vinegar
½ cup sugar
1 large onion cut into wedges
1-2 bay leaves
2-3 cloves
Barely cover the meat with water and cook in slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.

Sauce
I reserve cup of juices from the meat strain and add:
1 teaspoon mustard (any kind, powdered or ready)
1 tablespoon honey
½ cup vinegar
2 teaspoons cornstarch

juices, vinegar, mustard and honey in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Whisk the cornstarch in 1 c. folded tea with water and stir until the sauce thickens. You may need to add a bit more if you need a thick sauce. Try it and see if you need more mustard.

Serve on slices of sole with roots and green vegetables.

Roast pork with garlic

It is an easy recipe that taste fabulous. Choose a lean pork roast or cut the fat yourself. Boneless is easier to carve. Again the size of the pork will be determined by the size of your cooker. Adjust the cooking time of meat for children.

1 .5 kg pork loin roast boneless
In vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon salt
1 / 2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups sweet potatoes, peeled pieces
1 medium onion, sliced
6 cloves garlic, peeled
1 cup chicken broth

Brown your piece of pork on all sides in hot oil after seasoning with salt and pepper. Add sweet potato, garlic and onion in bottom of slow cooker. Add meat on top. Deglaze the pan with a little Browning broth and pour over the meat with the remaining stock. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours. Serve pork with sweet potato with your choice of other vegetables.

Mango Chicken

A delicious tropical flavored dish.
1 kg skinless, boneless chicken pieces
Olive oil for chicken Browning
1 onion, finely diced
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
1 cup mango nectar
1 cup fresh mango flesh (which may be omitted and an extra ½ cup of nectar added)
½ cup brown sugar firmly packed

Brown off the chicken and add to the casserole with the cooking juices and all other ingredients. Simmer for 4-5 hours. Serve over rice or couscous, if desired.

Buttermilk Lemon Pudding sponge self Saucing
You can even dessert in your slow cooker!

Pudding batter
1 cup flour
½ cup sugar
2 v. teaspoon baking powder
2 v. teaspoon lemon zest
1 / 8 teaspoon salt
½ cup buttermilk
cooking oil 2 tbsp soup

Sauce
1 ¾ cup hot water
¼ cup lemon juice
¾ cup sugar

Mix all the ingredients of dough with milk in a bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon or electric mixer. Pour into slow cooker bowl.

Sauce
Stir in hot water, lemon juice and sugar in a bowl.
Pour batter carefully over trying to get water to the face of the slow cooker bowl.

Place 5 layers of paper towels from the top of the crock pot and lid.
Cook on high for about 2 hours.

Serve with cream and / or ice cream

Chickpea and vegetable curry

You can use any combination.
