Is it required by law to obtain the status of your children vaccinated against chickenpox? I was told there is or was a deadly strain of chicken pox and it is a state law in the State of Washington to have your child vaccinated against chickenpox. Is it just my state or are there other states out there that require you to immunize your child before going to school?
There is no new strain of varicella circulating.
Most, if not all states have an obligation vaccine against chickenpox to school. Most, if not all states are exempt from the requirement if you have medical records showing that you have already had chickenpox.
All states except Mississippi and West Virginia allow exemptions to vaccines for religious or personal reasons. Here is the information exemption for each state. http://www.mothering.com/discussions/sho ...
In most states, laws vaccine exemption apply to both public and private schools.
There are no states that require you to immunize your child. Simply fill out a form stating that you are a religious objector. Basically, it is against your religious beliefs to vaccinate.
It's the law here to the smallpox shot the first (or was when my children started going to school) unless of course you have a waiver. Now, for newcomers from Kindy they have the knack of smallpox second. But they do not need children who are already registered to go back and take the picture pox second.
No state may require you to get a vaccine. There are many parents not vaxing that would ever happen. Get a waiver form from your local health department. or physicians' offices. You have the right to refuse any vaccine on behalf of your child.
Depends on the state. In my experience, it is generally not the state it needs, but the school district.
It is increasingly common. I heard that my state is also demanding.
Frankly, I think it's a big mistake to vaccinate against diseases such as chickenpox, which are relatively mild. The argument I have heard, however, for the vaccine against chickenpox, is supposed to reduce the risk of shingles in later life.
Even still, my child will not get vaccinated.
strain of a disease or a virus can be fatal depending on the conditions of the person receiving it. You can die of something if you're pretty bad.
No, there are no states that I know of this need for vaccines ... no State has the right to require persons.
I have not received the vaccine against chickenpox was 18 until I ... and to be honest, I get regretted half of vaccines that I had. They do horrible things to your body. (My children are not vaccinated)
Schools could require, however, that it is different than the state requires that all citiznes have the vaccine.

No. Whoever told you that is misinformed.
All states offer some form of exemption. Just know how to get them.
Washington offers all three: religious, medical and philosophical.

While private schools have the right to refuse if they please, public schools are required by law to accept exemptions vaccine.
I do not know about your condition, but most schools should have a vaccine before going to school or you as a parent may sign a waiver declining the vaccine for your child. I have not heard of any states requiring mandatory to go to school.
