Travel Scotland celiac disease? We hope to holiday in Scotland, but with celiac disease, we need to maintain a gluten-free diet. Does anyone know of a Celiac society or other group in Scotland, we can contact to get info on gluten free resources? Or does anyone know any gluten free B & B etc.in Scotland?
Try this link: http://www.coeliac.co.uk/ This is the British Celiac webpage charity. They should hopefully be able to help you.
In addition, as you've noticed, it is spelled Coeliac UK, so you know if you're looking for it alphabetically or to search online:)
The owner of this b & b http://www.lunanlodge.co.uk/food.htm on the east coast of Scotland has celiac, there is a mention on the page support under special schemes. I do not know the place personally, he just in a search.
Your best bet would be the charity Coeliac well, I guess they either have a list of places to stay or may refer you to someone who a.
I think most places will now meet to plan our special day, although I understand this is more complex than no nuts or fish!
As discussed below blinks and supermarkets in the United Kingdom will also mark the gluten free food, and carry clear labels to all the other ingredients too, especially allergy warnings. There are also loads of health food stores around who will be able to help if you need something specific:)
Hope that helps, and good visit!
