Celiac Disease Foodsdiet changes involved with Celiac Disease

Gluten intolerance or celiac disease

As noted in my previous article, I cover the basics of celiac disease, which include the effects of celiac disease, symptoms and treatment options. In this article, I'll go into detail about the life of a celiac patient.

When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I was told that a change in lifestyle was important in order. Fast food was out, pizza, breads, pasta, most alcohols, especially beer, have been excluded from my diet. I became a label reader. You'd be surprised what you eat when you start reading labels. Here's a quick tutorial in reading labels. The list starts with the element that takes the most weight, and content continues to up the smallest portion of food. I came across an excellent website on which foods to avoid and foods that are allowed, www.celiac.ca/egfdiet2.html # avoid.

Even relatives and friends have made adjustments to their meals, to answer my allergies when I am invited to dinner. I'm on first name basis with the guy at my health food supermarket (Claudio). I see now that something positive in my life because it forced me to eat more healthily.

Diagnosis of celiac disease:

Recognizing celiac disease is difficult because some of its symptoms are similar to those of other diseases. If the doctor suspects a person has celiac disease, he or she will probably for a blood test as a first step in diagnosing the disease. Perhaps the best way to diagnose celiac disease is a biopsy or tissue sample and send it to a laboratory. This is done by a procedure called an endoscopy. If you decide to stay awake through this procedure, like me, you will have the chance to see your stomach, the stomach acids, and stuff like that.

Feeling tired and lethargic all the time:

Coeliac will feel tired, more than someone without the disease. Celiacs have difficulty digesting certain vitamins because of damage resulting from the small intestine. When the villi are damaged, (villi are tiny projections resembling hairs in the small intestine) the body can not absorb certain vitamins and fatigue in. Talk to your doctor about a supplement program vitamin.

The symptoms of celiac disease: Extreme fatigue and bloating abdominal pain gas diarrhea, chronic weight loss smelly stools anemia or low number of red cells

How common is celiac disease? This number varies as expected, but in general the United States 1 250 people have celiac disease. Celiac disease is also widespread in Italy, Ireland, Sweden and Austria.

In conclusion and some final tips:

If you have been diagnosed with celiac disease and you fear that you will not be able to live on a diet without gluten, it is not as difficult as you think. Most large grocery stores have a good range of gluten free products are mainly in the Bio section. Stick to the diagram below, has been a great help to me, and I think you'll agree.

No fast food. Some fast food chains use bread crumbs in their burgers and generally, the clerk can not tell you what is in the burger itself. Do not take the phone for takeout, no alcohol beverage made from cereals, and to beware of certain sauces and gravies. Wheat flour is used to thicken them and there is rarely a substitute available. Do not unmarked by passing food to eat like candy in a dish. Bring your lunch if you must. Even salad dressings may contain wheat or wheat products. These simple guidelines have helped me enormously. For a complete list of tips and diet talk to your doctor, and listen to what they say!

What is the alternative? You may experience iron deficiency, anemia, vitamin deficiencies, and sensitivities to other foods. This, in a word has been my experience with celiac disease. Maybe I left out some details, as I am not a doctor. How.
