If you purchased a horse from a BLM auction, is there anyway to get his papers title (ownership transfer) of the BLM?

And is it possible for BLM horses for show / competition in shows that require the horse to be registered?

Yes, you can - you have to shave freezebrand. There are some letters and markings (for most symbols) that make up a freezebrand. You can send in the marking, they can identify your horse, age, and where it was taken .. and then you can get title to them by the BLM. You should be able to contact the BLM - just do a search for "wild horse and donkey" - and to explain and obtain a copy of the original. You'll need to know the identification number of the horses - which is the mark on the left side of the horse's neck. It should be a United States followed a few arrows.
